Abby Brown Releases Solo EP, Gypsy Soul

Engaging over 5,000 Spotify Followers and nearly 50,000 plays in first month.

It's in honor of that Americana music tradition that Gypsy Soul, Abby's debut EP was released November 8th on the Pure Music Nashville label. Produced by Nashville-based bassist John Heithaus, the five song collection features many of Nashville's first-call musicians including: David Santos (CSN, Billy Joel, Melissa Etheridge), guitar maven JD Simo, keys genius Billy Nobel (Faith Hill & Tim McGraw) and the superb vocalist, Miss Wendy Moten (Vince Gill, Faith Hill). In the first month after the release, Abby gained over 5,000 followers and nearly 50,000 plays on Spotify. Abby's lead vocals are complimented by her acoustic guitar and natural harmonies. Two of the EP's songs ("Worst Dream", "Ghost") were written by Abby and the title track, "Gypsy Soul", is a co-write with noted fiddle player and vocalist Luke Bulla (Lyle Lovett, Ricky Skaggs, Lee Ann Womack). The EP also includes a wonderful Americana arrangement of Paul Simon's classic "Homeward Bound" and the Sheryl Crow-inspired "Got Away" that features LA's Jack Mack Horns and JD Simo's blistering slide guitar. Her style defies more precise description and the invariable comparisons to other female singer/songwriters. "I am focused on being authentic", says Brown, "and through honest lyrics and heartfelt melodies, I hope my songs take listeners on a relatable journey."
